People: how terrible!, such bad manners, must be on drugs, what a horrible violent young man, the poor flowers, flowers have soul, flowers are so special etc. + heap of insults, "die", "kill yourself" and generally repressed rage

b) Black woman openly talks about racism in this country, HER country

Bunch of racist+mysoginistic+homophobic white politicians: insult her
Far too many people: they're right though, she's just playing the victim, We aRe NoT RacIsT, we even let her talk! etc + insults

This has just been a crescendo of rage for me, I felt about to boil over just half an hour ago while I was cleaning the kitchen and I just need some venting

So yesterday I kicked myself into starting Ori and the Blind Forest (don't ask me why starting a new game takes me considerable effort at times).

Ori is a simple but effective story, where everything that happens happens because (adoptive) parents care about their kids a lot and that can lead to (more or less inadvertent) disaster, but it can also fix things.

I was crying while I watched the intro, knowing all the whys and hows from that one playthrough I watched a couple of years ago.

I couldn't play for long (my laptop is close to melting as it is in this weather), so then I logged in to FB and I saw a post about that dad who drowned with his daughter while attempting to cross a river.

Of course, one of our shittiest papers (literal toilet paper) had a huge headline which could be translated to: 'Clandestine from Salvador makes his daughter drown. But what kind of dad is he???'

Just...I can't fucking take this anymore. I never imagined I'd have to see this level of petty, gratuitous cruelty. What the fuck do you even get from writing something like that? Do you feel superior? Happier? Accomplished? What?

Of course, there has also been the whole business with the Sea Watch, which aside from all the issues with migrants it's disgusting also because of all the sexism leveled at the ship Captain.

And of course, after the explosion in our town house our mayor and one of his collaborators died because they spent too long in the fire helping people get out & making sure no-one was left behind. Both were intoxicated by the smoke.

Two good men who were always ready to help others (our mayor also saved a man from a burning car a few months ago), including migrants, are dead while all the human-shaped crap whose only objective is to spread hate and cruelty will always be there to poison our lives.

On a more personal note, my mother has been having medical test after medical test for something that might be more or less serious.

I don't know where to turn anymore.

Facebook is full of real-life awfulness - what with all the anti-vaxxers, homophobes, racists, religious fanatics, wannabe-fascists, and generally ignorant folks who feel validated by finding people who are as ignorant and petty and cruel as them.

tumblr is full of non-real-life annoyance, mainly, but with the dedicated SJW that turn the world into blackVSwhite and end up having their own fascist mindset of sorts ('you either agree with us on everything or you're eeeeeeevil') to add a further dash of loss of faith in human kind.

Idk, I guess focusing on DS weapons is probably the way to go (unless I got a Fëanorian version of the Silm to read, but that doesn't fall within the realm of 'things that are likely to happen').
