My sun, my dear dear sun

I failed to remember earlier but this year marks ten whole years since I created my AO3 account and started posting fic.

I've not been active at all, of course, for a long long time, but every once in a while I do log into eldvarpa and check things (so I know I have a ton of comments to reply to...). My favourite ship tags are still kinda bare. *sigh*

Lately I've also started re-reading my own fics. Some I didn't even remember writing! Some (mostly the oldest ones) saw my English falter a lot (which is understandable), and I do plan to fix that (leisurely, I'm not gonna dive in and correct every unidiomatic bit of English at once). Some are actually really really good, if I say so myself. Like Orcs' Brew, I love that fic!

Actually I started thinking about Orcs' Brew again after that one thing with the RoP orcs (which was hilarious, ngl) - it reminded me that I had a whole backstory in my mind about the orcs that follow Maedhros (very much unwillingly at first, there was a lot of torture involved), which I did hint at in the fic, but I would have loved to expand on it. 

I re-read "The Sun Dies Out" today for the first time in forever.

It's definitely among the fics I wrote that I still wholeheartedly like. I was never too fond of Mahtan, and I like him a little less after several years in fandom, but he's still such a secondary character and doesn't bother me all that much.

I was afraid the story would have more weird turns of phrases than it actually had - I used to write lots of those when I started writing fics, partly due to the influence of my mother tongue and partly because I do like a more florid style.

I did make a few changes here and there for clarity and a (hopefully) better flow of the writing.

The plot/scenario is still OP, the kind of thing I'd like a long drawn-out multi-chapter story for. :')

Since fics not written by me that I want to read are still few (and new ones currently non-existing) I ended up re-reading some of my own yesterday and made a few changes to some, particularly Taste Every Drop (added 200 ca. words and it should read better now) and Trapped. I also added a couple hundred words to Disarray a few days ago, and I might tinker with more stories if I'm in the mood for it.

And suddenly fic. Mainly, I wanted to kick myself into finishing something, so here is this very long fic which I started mid-August, I think.
