I've been paying more attention to the lore in Outward this time around (and yes, there are ways in which it is lacking / could be better).

Since I also always have Fëanorians on my mind, I decided the two things could go together.

Or, more precisely, I had an idea for a Fëanor/Curufin PWP days ago but I didn't want to set it in Tirion, or anywhere else in Middle-Earth, because I do need cosy, and fictional places that are comfy, and Middle-Earth just doesn't cut it for me, so I went with Monsoon.

So what if Aurai (or the wider world Aurai is part of) is just the Fëanor created when he broke the Silmarils?

I mean:

* The Ash Giants.

As I've mentioned, their main deities are the Dawn Weaver and the Dusk Father.

Of course, my idea when I first read that is that it could be Míriel and Fëanor.

Then I thought of Míriel and Finwë, but that doesn't really convince me (Finwë doesn't have this 'creator' aura).

Caranthir and Curufin could be nice, but Curufin has another part to play.

My favourite atm is Caranthir and Fëanor. Partly because it's a more unique combination.

* Light Mender & Plague Doctor & Golems

Because Curufin would still be experimenting with mechanical stuff and weird stuff and I actually would love to see Curufin creating golems (in canon as well).

I'm really fascinated by the Light Mender, quote: "an immortal Lich associated with the Lightning element who is undergoing an unknown "great work". He's responsible for creating all the Gold-Lich enemies found in the region around the Spire, as well as the creator of the Gold-Lich Mechanism."

The Light Mender, in his Spire of Light, is JUST PERFECT as a manifestation of Curufin. Also, yeah, Light Mender.

At the other end of the spectrum, Curufin also has the Plague Doctor / Jade Lich as a manifestation of himself, with all the weaponry he created and possibly (totally) the golems in the Electric Lab too.

* The Scarlet Lady could be a sort of...yeah, manifestation / alter-ego of Míriel?

"The Scarlet Lady betrayed Krypteia and became a Lich by devouring the memories of her own ancestors, gaining immortality while "anchoring her life to each of her descendants."

"According to game writer Aegix Drakan, these descendants become Burning Man or other manifestations of the Scarlet Lady's power"

"You're correct on the Burning Heir, the burning men are supposed to be what happens when a child/descendant of the Scarlet Lady dies in the line of "duty" for her."

All extremely interesting stuff (for an AU too).

* The Heroic Kingdom is full of eight-pointed stars (also, as an aside, Vendavel has the same star too).

* The Scourge could be just the old power of the Valar resurfacing

The Fëanorians basically just travel around this world and check on what everyone is up to (might add more, too sleepy rn.)

(Alternately, the Fëanorians travel to Aurai to recover one or more Silmaril shards, as per When flame burns bright.)
